Finished Size: 12" x 12"
Home to the Kumeyaay people for thousands of years before European settlement, San Diego was the first place visited by the Spanish on the western cost of what is now California. Claimed for Spain by Juan Cabrillo, San Diego become the first Spanish settlement in the United Stated and is situated close to Tijuana, Mexico, on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. With a considerable naval presence, industries related to military and defense make up a large part of the economy. Beautiful beaches and a busy cruise ship port are also a big draw for tourists. An exquisite star block that is suggestive of a wild flower pays tribute to this extraordinary city.
