The third bird quilt pattern in the Jewels of the Rainforest Series is the exotic and endangered Rainbow-billed Toucan. These beautiful birds are being pushed toward extinction by black market demand. Toucans live on fruit and berries which may be surrounded by thorns. They use their long bill to reach and pluck them without getting hurt. Like the Caladium it is standing behind, Toucans are native to Brazil and neighboring South American countries.
