Finished Size: 12" x 12"

Located near the junction of the Willamette and Columbia rivers, Portland is the largest city in Oregon. It has the distinction of being one of the most environmentally friendly cities in the country and is known for its strong commitment to land use planning. Portland's access to the Pacific Ocean via the Willamette river helped it to become large quickly. Portland earned its nickname, "The City of Roses," because of its extremely popular annual rose festival. An elegant eight petaled star and pinwheel flower block is a reference to Portland's floral nickname.
