Located in southern Florida and part of the Miami metro area, Hialeah is home to one of the largest populations of Cuban-Americans in the country. The city's name is attributed to a combination of Muskogee words meaning "pretty prairie." Once inhabited by the Seminole Indians, the geometric design of this block is an homage to the Seminole and their remarkable patchwork creations.
