What is Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe PDF? Adobe Acrobat Reader is free software for viewing and printing Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Portable Document Format (PDF) is the standard for the secure and reliable distribution of electronic documents and forms around the world. PDF is a universal file format that preserves the fonts, images, graphics, and layout of any source document, regardless of the application and platform used to create it. Adobe PDF files are compact and complete, and can be shared, viewed, and printed by anyone with free Adobe Reader software.
How do I download my free copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader? Go to the Adobe website and select the appropriate version for your operating system. Follow the instructions to download and install the software (we recommend that you use the latest version available for your computer). If you have older versions of Adobe Reader installed on your computer, you should remove or uninstall before updating to the newest version on order to prevent any possible problems.
When I download a pattern why is it saying the file is corrupt? First, check to make sure that you are using the most recent versions of both Acrobat Reader and your web browser. Sometimes transfer errors happen and in most cases, simply downloading the pattern again fixes the problem. Can I print extra copies for my friends? No. When you purchase a downloadable pattern, you purchase the right to use the pattern to make quilts for your own personal use. The pattern's contents as well as the file itself are the exclusive property of the copyright owners. Purchasing a downloadable pattern does not give you the right to reproduce or distribute the pattern so your friend will need to purchase his/her own copy of the pattern. The only way that we (as pattern designers) earn money is through the sales of our patterns. If you copy and distribute our patterns for free, we are not able to earn money for our work which prevents us from designing and publishing new patterns for you to enjoy. We appreciate your support and hope that you will help us to end piracy.
Can I teach your patterns in a class? Our policy regarding teaching of our patterns is that each student must purchase his/her own copy of the pattern(s) being taught. As a teacher, you can either buy a copy for each of students and print them for your class or have each student purchase the pattern individually before class. Either way, each student will need to buy a pattern.
Can I teach a free pattern in a class? We value education and encourage you to teach our free designs in your classes. We ask that you let your students know about our site and that you only teach the pattern in whole and not in part (i.e. without altering the document in any way). Only patterns that are part of our library of free patterns and have a permanent $0.00 price may be freely taught and distributed. For all other patterns, students must purchase his/her own copy for use in class.
Do I have to buy patterns for my students even if I'm not charging them for the class? Instructors must either purchase patterns for students or students must purchase their own copies of any downloadable patterns that do not have a permanent price of $0.00 (free). Patterns that are offered at a discount (free for a limited time period) may not be taught unless students purchase copies of the pattern.
